Spring Favorites 2012

SPRING FAVORITES 2012

This Forever 21 makeup bag has been very useful these past couple of months. It is very cute and small enough to take with me to school or in my purse. I can keep it on my bathroom counter for "decoration" and I conveniently keep the makeup products I am constantly reaching for and use everyday in there. If you're looking for a makeup bag or pencil case, I highly recommend Forever 21. They have new ones every few months that have the cutest patterns. They're also extremely cheap.

I've been looking for a makeup mirror for a while, and was hoping to buy a light-up one from Target. At Forever 21 the other day, I saw this mirror while checking out and thought it was the cutest thing. It was pretty inexpensive too, and is a charming addition to my counter.

I'm sure most of you have seen or heard of the naked palette before. I've been loving Virgin (all over the lid) with some gel eyeliner on the upper lash line. It's pretty simple, but the light wash of shimmery champagne is great for a natural daytime eye look.

And speaking of gel eyeliner, this Bobbi Brown one is crazy good... That sounded really weird and I can't remember the last time I used the phrase "crazy good," but I'm obsessed. I bought this during the first week of May when I got my makeup done for prom at the Bobbi Brown counter. Instead of paying in cash for the makeup application, you buy three products. I chose this one and I'm really happy I did. Coastal Scents makes some pretty good angled eyeliner/eyebrow brushes (which I recommend using with this eyeliner,) but of course use whichever brush you like best.

This liquid eyeliner is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you are a beginner at applying liquid eyeliner. The brush is incredibly thin, which makes it very easy to make a precise line. You can make the line very thick if you want too, which I tried to show when in my swatches. The only problem I have with this eyeliner is that it wears off after 7 or 8 hours. That sounds like a pretty long time, but I always find that it looks faded when I get home from school and look in the mirror. Regardless, this is still an impressive product and I am surprised it comes from the Sephora brand. Go buy it!

Sorry to keep showing eyeliner after eyeliner, but I cannot leave any of these out! This eyeliner is perfect for putting on your tight line. Then, blink (very hardly) right after to get some of that eyeliner on your waterline. You'll look like a bit of an idiot while blinking "hardly," but it's worth it. Maybe the right word is "heavily" but I'm not quite sure. Anyway, because the eyeliner is waterproof, it won't smudge. And just having a bit in the tight line and waterline will add very subtle definition to your eyes. And just to clarify, the swatches are not the ones on the back of my hand. They are the ones to the left of the eyeliner.

This is another one of the things I got at the Bobbi Brown counter for my prom makeup. I forgot to take pictures of it so please don't kill me/I will insert them later. I love this lipstick. It's pretty natural and close to my lip color (why do I feel like everybody is always saying that on Youtube and what not.... but it's true.) Anyway, it's a very pretty pink with blue undertones (hence the name of the lipstick) and I would definitely suggest you go and try it.

Finally, my last favorite is Rimmel's Sexy Curves Mascara. This mascara makes your eyelashes so curled, thick, and long, while not being clumpy. It has the coolest S-shaped wand. To be honest, I have no idea at all what the S-shaped wand means or what it's supposed to do, but clearly it works because my eyelashes look great (if I do say so) when I use this stuff... and my eyelashes are naturally short little stubs.

Alright, I hope you all enjoyed my first official blog post! And when I say all, I guess I mean just me because no one has the link to this blog anyway. Well... it's a start. And if you have any requests, please leave them in the comments! And please comment with any recommendations or criticisms. Let me know if you think my descriptions are too long or you want different pictures... all that stuff.

Xoxo,
Julia
